Meet Our Team
MARGIE LUGIBHILMedical Clinic AdvisorMy name is Margie Lugibihl and I moved from Columbus, Ohio to Charlotte in 2004. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Management Information Systems and later returned to school to earn my nursing degree. Through church, I found out about Project 658 and started volunteering at their monthly medical clinics. I fell in love with the people and their stories of survival and resilience as they adapted to live in a new country. I was hired in April 2015 as Clinic Coordinator. In addition to overseeing clinic operations, I work to connect families to available health-related resources in our community. Outside my work at Project 658, I enjoy playing and coaching soccer, hiking, and reading.
ROY BLANK, MDMedical Clinic AdvisorDr. Roy Blank has provided medical care for the Project 658 clinic since the first patient was treated. His responsibilities at Wingate University and Project 658 have been combined to provide an opportunity for teaching Wingate PA and Pharmacy students while treating the patients evaluated at the 658 clinic. KATIE GUELZOWCounselor, MACC, LMFTA
I am originally from Memphis, TN and soccer brought me to Charlotte after completing undergrad at UAB in Birmingham, AL. Once I completed my Masters in Christian Counseling at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary-Charlotte, I received my associate's license in marriage and family therapy before coming on staff as a counselor with Project 658 in June 2015. I enjoy walking with people through life's problems in a way that brings healing. When I am not working, I enjoy gardening and spending time outdoors.
RIA GONZALEZAdministrative AssistantI grew up in a suburb of Chicago but spent the last half of my life in Pennsylvania. My parents migrated to this country with the pursuit of the “American Dream.” Witnessing them attain their dream has instilled in me that anything is possible. I graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Sociology and minors in Ethnic Studies and Spanish. Post college, I’ve worked in the non-profit setting, always striving to help people in any way I can. Being a second-generation immigrant, I’ve felt a connection with Project 658 and admire the work they do for our community. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, listening to music, going on adventures and practicing yoga and meditation.

History of Collaboration
NFL star wide receiver Steve Smith, the Steve Smith Family Foundation, and Project 658 have joined forces to continue to be a voice of the voiceless. The Project 658 journey started in 2008 - A Christ-centered, holistic ministry providing services for at-risk families in Charlotte, moving them toward sustainability; with a key focus on international and refugee communities. Established in 2013, the Steve Smith Family Foundation is dedicated to providing hope and inspiration to those in need and advancing causes that are close to the heart of the founder's family. Created by Steve and Angie Smith, their efforts committed to thinking critically, acting passionately and encouraging lasting change.
These two organizations are collaborating to develop the Smith Family Wellness Center. It exists to be Charlotte's premier clinic that offers medical and counseling services in a combined facility for Charlotte families that are facing personal family struggles and challenges. Through partnership with the Steve Smith Family Foundation and Project 658, this one of a kind clinic helps address both physical and emotional needs that arise from injury, abuse, addiction and trauma.
The development of this center will multiply the impact that we can all have on the critical needs our city is facing. For those who have been serving with us, we are immensely grateful for the foundation that you have helped lay. For those who will join us in the months to come, we are excited for you to experience the power of being a part of something with every day life changing impact and eternal significance.
